THE PIRATES TAVERN

The Pirates Tavern is the clubroom of Williamstown Maritime Association members and their guests. But it is also open to the general public. The tavern has a true maritime feel about it and is one of the hidden gems of Melbourne.

The Pirates Tavern is a licensed venue and is open every Friday night from 7pm and Saturdays from 12pm and every third Sunday of the month from 2pm. Live music is played in the Pirates Tavern every Friday night, the third Sunday of the month and other special events. During festivals or special events, tavern openings are often extended. Please check the Events page on this website for regular updates.

To comply with liquor licensing laws, ALL NON-MEMBERS OF THE WMA MUST SIGN THE TEMPORARY REGISTER AT THE DOOR. But if you are going to be coming down to the tavern regularly, consider taking out WMA membership.

All proceeds from the tavern and WMA membership go back into redevelopment of Seaworks. So by patronising the Pirates Tavern, you are actually helping the Seaworks vision become more of a reality.

On the third Sunday of every month, the WMA holds a live music event at the tavern (see Events for the latest gig). They are a mix of local bands and some of Melbourne’s top performers. When the Pirates Tavern is holding live music, even Capt’n Jack Sparrow’s bones are rocking!

With its salty atmosphere, the Pirates Tavern become a popular venue for special group or family events, such as birthday parties, company wind-ups and New Year’s Eve parties.
